Massage

I offer collaborative sessions to help you breathe as fully as you can. I am here to support your sustained healing, and to offer a treatment that responds to your needs, sensitivities, and histories.

Sessions with me start promptly and end gently. Each session is an opportunity to build trust, so I welcome and initiate feedback and communication throughout.

My touch style is intuitive, intentional, and grounded. I incorporate full exhales into every session, prompting both my clients and myself to stay relaxed and rooted. Through layers of skin, fascia, muscle, and bone, we can address and uncover places in your body that want attention.

I have training in Swedish massage, pre- and perinatal massage, deep tissue work, and myofascial release. I have taken supplemental classes in Craniosacral Therapy, Reflexology, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

A note: communicating to a bodyworker while they work on you can be challenging for some. Together, we can craft a form of communication that allows you to stay rooted. I can give you a verbal heads up each time I start working on a new part of your body, you can wiggle your finger or clench your fist if you want me to change what I'm doing, we can practice saying "no" before I lay my hands on you, or anything else.

More on the modalities I’ve studied:

Pre- and Perinatal massage: massage with modifications to ensure comfort and safety of the pregnant person and baby, and/or for supported healing during postpartum. Structural, energetic, and emotional needs specific to the perinatal time can be addressed.

Swedish massage: classic, general relaxation massage. Light to very deep pressure available. I always offer abdominal massage to my clients if there is interest.

Myofascial Release (MFR): light, sustained pressure on fascial system to reduce pain and restore motion.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD): gentle manipulation of certain areas to encourage lymph to move. Great for edema and pre- and post-surgeries!

Reflexology: gentle pressure along specific points of the feet that correspond with specific parts of the body

Craniosacral Therapy (CST): with a light touch and long holds, CST relieves pressure and tension in and around the Central Nervous System.
