Fertility Awareness

Are you interested in learning accurate and empowering information about the menstrual cycle?

I would love to teach you about Fertility Awareness!

In this work we record simple observations about the menstrual cycle, in order to decipher when we’re fertile vs. infertile.

Cycle tracking is a tool you can apply to so many realms:

non-hormonal birth control (99.4% effective!), conception, gender dysphoria, pain and symptom mapping, reproductive health autonomy, PMS/PMDD support, body literacy, and more!

I offer gender inclusive fertility awareness education to a wide variety of people. Book a free consultation call with me to see if it’s the right fit!

I teach this material in the form of one-on-ones, partner classes, and group classes, both virtual and in-person. Book a consultation call to discuss what your specific needs are.

What’s in a session?

Here are my goals as a teacher:

1) Center your specific reason for learning this material, and move at your learning pace with a variety of teaching tools.

2) Teach digestible, memorable, and research-based content…

3) …so that feel you feel confident in identifying all the phases of the cycle, fertile and infertile!

Here’s a typical class flow with me for a beginner. I also offer chart reviews for experienced folks.

Class one:

  • grounding in your unique intentions, uterine anatomy, what is the cervix and cervical fluid?

Class two:

  • hormones of the cycle, phases of the cycle, how to track (cervical fluid as primary sign, with basal body temperature and cervix checks as secondary signs if you’re interested in learning those)

Class three:

  • distinguishing fertile from infertile signs, and anything else you’d like a deeper dive into! …rules for birth control or conception, pregnancy acceptability scale, tracking on T, politics of this work, what else are you curious about?

My original education was in symptothermal (cervical fluid and basal body temperature) method. My teacher training is in the Billings Ovulation Method, a cervical fluid based method. I do not offer medical advice or opinion.

Our relationships to our cycles vary. You don’t have to love your cycle to do this work. You don’t have to be a cis woman to do this work. You don’t need to have a regular cycle to do this work. I’m here to support you wherever you’re at and whoever you are.

FAQs

Can I work with you if I don’t have a cycle (I’m currently on hormonal birth control, I’m a partner/friend of someone with a cycle, etc)?

Yes! This information is for everyone.

What exactly are we tracking?

I teach my clients how to observe a primary sign: cervical fluid, and two secondary signs: basal body temperature and cervix position/texture.

What’s the difference between cycle tracking and fertility awareness?

Cycle tracking is making observations about the cycle. Fertility awareness is deciphering which of those observations are fertile signs vs. infertile signs.

The Fertility Awareness Method is 99.4% effective as birth control??

Yep! When using a symptothermal method and following the rules to avoid pregnancy, FAM is highly effective. If you don’t follow the rules, or you interpret your fertility incorrectly, it gets less effective. Learning with a trained educator is a great way to set up for success.
